A ski holiday with children... it's a bit different than you might be used to. When going on a ski holiday with kids for the first time, you'll find yourself looking for different facilities than before. It must be child-friendly, the accommodation as well as the ski area. And the distance to the ski school is also important. Also, things such as a swimming pool or play area are desirable. Have you already listed your wishes?

What to consider when skiing with children

Taking the kids on a ski holiday involves a lot of considerations. Below is a brief summary of the most important points to think about.

Arrange ski lessons in advance, especially during busier school holiday periods.
Ask if there are multilingual ski instructors available; it's easier for the kids if they can speak their own language.
Choose accommodation within walking distance of the slopes for children, or:
Check if there is a large parking lot near the ski lifts and ski school.
Make sure to bring enough food for the first two days to avoid hangry kids!
Arrange ski equipment in advance: ski clothing, snow boots, helmet, gloves, ski goggles, sunglasses, scarf.
Handy: a ski jacket with a pocket for the ski pass on the sleeve (with a zipper!).
Don't forget: sleds!
