Moena is a small town in the heart of the Dolomites with the atmosphere of an Italian mountain village. There is an atmospheric centre with artisan shops, cosy bars and authentic restaurants. There is also plenty to do here for the non-skier in the group, a must is tasting the local cheese Puzzone di Moena DOP. The town is known as "the Fairy of the Dolomites" because of the beautiful light that colours the mountain peaks pink at sunrise and sunset, providing spectacular views.
The cosy town has a unique location between several ski areas; Alpe Lusia (Tré Valli), Passo San Pellegrino/Falcade (Tré Valli), Val di Fassa (known for Canazei and connection to the Sellaronda, among others) and Val di Fiemme. The nearest area is Alpe Lusia at a distance of 3 kilometres, followed by San Pellegrino/Falcade at a distance of 8 kilometres. There are good ski bus connections to the various areas from Moena.Cross-country skiers can go to Alochet, 2 kilometres from Passo San Pellegrino. Here there are beautiful trails that wind across wide open plains and through white snow-covered forests.
