Those who choose the Dolomites for their winter sport holiday can ski from valley to valley, with 450 ski lifts, divided over 12 ski areas. The conditions of the area are close to perfect, situated at an altitude starting from 1500 metres up to 3269 metres.

Due to the location on the southern side of the Alps the region is one of the sunniest winter sport destinations of Europe. Furthermore, the area is almost completely snow-certain because of the modern snow cannons that have been placed over the past years.

The Dolomites are seen as one of the most beautiful mountain scenery in the world. It is therefore that this area has been added to the UNESCO heritage list. About 250 million years ago the Dolomites arose from the Earth's crust and have been subject to change by the relentless effects of water, wind and ice. Many of the visitors are mesmerized by the jagged mountain peaks, steep mountains and beautiful colours that change throughout the day. During sunset, the peaks get a crimson colour that changes into violet when the night falls.

One of the 12 ski areas of the Dolomites is Tre Valli. This snow-certain ski area covert 92 km of slopes and the modern cable-car Col Margherita, situated in this area, leads to an altitude of 2513 metres. There are three village situated in this area: Moéna, Falcade and Passo San Pellegrino. Between Moéna and Passo San Pellegrina there is a quick bus connection (leaving 4x in the hour). Falcade and San Pellegrino are connected though the ski area, but not by bus. Tre Valli is well-visited by the Italian winter sport tourists, which is a small group and therefore not a destination with mass tourism. In the area are wide slopes situated offering a beautiful scenery while skiing down the slopes.
