This village is located in the Glemmtal, between two ridges of about 2000 meters high, close to the village of Saalbach (approximately 3 km away). Together with the villages of Saalbach, Leogang and Fieberbrunn, the village of Hinterglemm forms a large ski area; Ski Circus Saalbach/Hinterglemm/Leogang/Fieberbunn, with a total of 270 km of variable slopes!
There is recently made a connection from Viehhofen to the ski area of Zell am See, the Schmittenhöhe, and the ski pass of Hinterglemm is also valid in Zell am See and Kaprun. This ensures that you have access to 408 km of slopes with one ski pass.
The ski lifts and slopes are mainly around the village centre of Hinterglemm, meaning you never have to walk far in the morning. From the slopes you have a nice view over the village. Hinterglemm and Saalbach are both known for its lively après-ski. In the village there are several nightclubs and combined with the many pubs you can definitely have a great night out here. There are also several mountain restaurants that highly regarded.
At the Unterschwarzach in Hinterglemm there is a snow park. This is open almost every evening and you can also enjoy snow tubing. Another must in Hinterglemm is the toboggan run. This toboggan run is open during the day and almost every evening as well. Sledges can be rented at the valley station of the Reiterkogelbahn.
Hinterglemm is mostly car-free. Besides catering establishments other things found in the village include supermarkets, (sports) shops, facilities for children and schools. In the vicinity of the village, nice walks and activities such as cross-country skiing, ice skating and snowmobile tours are possible.
