The popular winter sport areas Saalbach and Hinterglemm form together with the more quiet village Leogang and the family village Fieberbrunn, a challenging and versatile ski area with 270 km of perfectly groomed slopes. There is one ski pass for the ski areas of Zell am See and Kaprun, with in total 408 km of slopes.

Skiers and snowboarders of each degree will enjoy themselves in the area of Skicircus Saalbach-Hinterglemm. The slopes of Skicircus Saalbach/ Hinterglemm are spread on both sides of the Glemmtal where you will find the cosy villages of Saalbach and Hinterglemm. The village Leogang can be found one valley to the north, under the imposing Leogang Steinberge mountains and the village of Fieberbrunn is connected via the Tirol S Bahn.
Cabin lift ZellamseeXpress provides a connection from Viehhofen to the Schmittenhöhe in Zell am See. From Saalbach you can go via the blue valley run to Viehhofen (nr. 168) to the dal station from the ZellamseeXpress, after which you can explore the 77 km of slopes of Zell am See.
For advanced skiers, it is a challenge to take the black runs on the north side of the Zwölferkogel (1984 m) and the Schattberg Ost (2020 m). While beginners find their ideal practice conditions on the sunny southern slopes. For snowboarders there are several special snowboard slopes, fun parks and half pipes. In Hinterglemm you can enjoy the Flutlicht piste during the evenings, from Monday to Saturday up to 9:30 PM. Here you will find the Snowpark (Nightpark) and the sledding run. Moreover, on Monday and Thursday the Schanteilift in Leogang is open from 7 PM to 9:30 PM (both slopes are free of charge, if you have a day ski pass). Due to the artificial snow-making machines this ski area is ensured of snow throughout the season.
For a lively après-ski, the villages Saalbach and Hinterglemm are the places to be! After a long day on the slopes you can choose from more than fifty hangouts. There are the old-fashioned lively cabins to highly regarded restaurants serving culinary delights. The bars and clubs are open and full of people till early morning. The après-ski in Leogang and Fieberbrunn is more quiet, but it is still very cosy.
In Saalbach/Hinterglemm are limited opportunities for cross-country skiing - e.g. the beautiful trail Talschluss-Höhenloipe leading from Hinterglemm through Hochalm and Mitterlengau to the Lindlingalm. In Leogang there is a connection to the cross-country trails of Leogang/Saalfelden with 80 km of loipes! Hikers can enjoy the beautiful hiking paths throughout the area.
