Ski Juwel Alpbachtal Wildschönau is a stretched out ski area with 145 km of slopes. This ski region is one of the ten largest ski areas in the Tirol region. Previously, these were two ski areas Alpbachtal and Wildschönau, which are connected in winter 2012/2013 by a gondola from Inneralpbach to the top of the Schatzberg.

Since the winter of 2012/2013, the new gondola between Inneralpbach and the top of the Schatsberg is linking the two ski areas Alpbachtal and Wildschönau with each other. The result is a widespread ski area with no less than 145 km of slopes, called the Ski Juwel Alpbachtal Wildschönau. This new ski area certainly belongs to the top ten largest ski areas of Tyrol. Characteristic of the Ski Juwel Alpbachtal Wildschönau area is the child friendliness. Because of the clear slopes and the good facilities for children is this an ideal ski area for a winter sport holiday with the whole family. Other characterics of this area are the idyllic winter landscapes and the picturesque villages.

The four villages Niederau, Oberau, Mühltal-Thierbach and Auffach are located in Wildschönau, a sunny valley on the edge of the Kitzbüheler Alps. Niederau is the largest and is the only one with a real nightlife. There is a free ski bus between all the villages in the valley.

The Wildschönau area is suitable for skiers and snowboarders of all levels. The ski area is divided into three areas: Schatzberg , Markbachjoch and Oberau. Schatzberg and Markbachjoch are the most important. Beginners can choose from a large number of blue runs, which offer enough variety. Red and black runs are being found at the Markbachjoch and the Lanerköpfl and the area behind the Markbachjoch is ideal for touring skiers. For the snowboarders there is a fun park on the Schatzberg in Auffach.

The ski area Alpbachtal consists of 9 villages and 1 town, including Alpbach, Brixlegg, Kramsach and Reith in Alpbachtal. Every village has its own character, but they have the charm and the Tyrolean cosiness in common. There are also free ski busses between the different villages in this area.
The Alpbachtal ski area is divided into the areas Wiedersberger Horn and Reither Kogel. On the Wiedersbergerhorn there are sufficient training opportunities for beginners, but there are also intermediate runs and some spicy slopes for advanced skiers. The slopes of the Reither Kogel area are also ideal for children and beginners. It is possible for snowboarders to go to the half-pipe at the mountain station of the Wiedersberghorn-lift.

Cross-country skiers can find their way in the Ski Juwel Alpbachtal Wildschönau ski area. The cross-country trails in the Wildschönau valley are all well connected, which is perfect for long trips through the valley. The area has a total of approximately 150 km in cross-country trails. Hikers can enjoy the many beautiful walking routes. Several walking tours are being organized by the local tourist office and you can also participate in a torch or snowshoe hike.
