Pettnau am Arlberg is a cozy village in the Stanzertal at the foot of the Hoher Riffler. The ski-area of Pettneu has been closed several years ago, but there are driving free ski busses from the village to the famous ski village St. Anton am Arlberg which is located about 7 km away. St. Anton am Arlberg is part of the large and varied Ski Arlberg ski area, which offers opportunities for all types of winter sports!

During the year there has been invested a lot in new ski lift connections. As a result, the villages of St. Anton am Arlberg, St. Christoph, Stuben, Zürs, Lech, Oberlech, Schröcken and Warth are all connected to one another, creating a large ski area with 303 km of slopes, the largest contiguous ski area in Austria.
Pettneu is a cheaper alternative than St. Anton am Arlberg. The village has a supermarket, bakery, several restaurants, bar, ski school and an indoor pool. There is a nice network of walking trails and there are also possibilities for the cross-country skier. However, for better conditions, skiers should move to St. Anton. St. Anton offers about 40 km of cross-country trails.
