The ski area of Hochkönig features 33 modern ski lifts and a total of 119 km of slopes. The ski area is surrounding the massive mountain of Hochkönig (2941 metres) and is part of the large ski region of Ski Amadé. The three largest villages in the ski area are Maria Alm, Dienten and Mühlbach - each known for their hospitable characters. From the town of Saalfelden you can also access the ski area of Hochkönig, and between the several villages there is a ski bus. (free of charge if you have a lift pas).

The ski area of Hochkönig reaches a maximum altitude of 2000 metres and is perfect for both beginners as the more experienced skiers and snowboarder. The area between the villages Dienten and Mühlbach offers mainly blue and red slopes - challenging black slopes are not situated here. At Mühlbach there is a small, clear ski area found (Hochkeil, 10 km of slopes), perfect for families with children.
'Die Königstour' is one of the attractions of this area - a ski tour with a lenght of 35 km, which can be done in one day by the average skier. It is the perfect day tour for the family and passed by five mountain peaks offering stunning views over the Hochkönig.
Snowboarders can enjoy several snow and fun parks in e.g. Maria Alm, Dienten and Mühlbach. Even the longest of Austria, the Blue Tomato Kings Park is situated in Mühlbach!
There are about 40 km of cross-country trails situated in this area. For hikers, the region has enough options with approximately 85 kilometers of hiking trails. You can also find a toboggan run in the villages of Maria Alm, Dienten and Mühlbacheen.
Scattered throughout the area there are several Wi-Fi spots available. Moreover, there are several apps that can make your winter sport Hochkönig and the region of Ski Amade even more fun by using e.g. the ski route planner, where you can set-out your entire ski route - depending on your ski level (Ski Amadé website), skiline.at allows you to track back your travelled miles and your (max.) speed and you can purchase your lift pas ticket online through Hochkönig's mobile website (recharge your ski pas)!
