The region of Schladming-Dachstein is a large area, stretched out over numerous mountains. On both sides of the valley are nine ski areas situated, accessible with only one ski card! The ski areas Hauser Kaibling, Planai, Hochwurzen, Reiteralm and Fageralm are situated at one side of the valley and on the other side the areas of Stoderzinken and Ramsau. The region offers a total of 234 km of slopes, 86 ski lifts and is suitable for both beginners as advanced skiers. Especially the area of Plainai is interesting for the experienced skiers where e.g. the fastest FIS run is situated.

There are also other winter sport activities offered in this area like the new hype snow rafting, where you 'sail' down through the powder snow of the Stoderzinken mountain tops. Moreover, there is are several fun parks, half pipes, quarter pipes and boarder crosses.
Those who seek more tranquillity can enjoy the 430 km of cross-country trails, awarded as one of the best cross-country areas of Europe.
This large ski area features 80 ski lifts and connects all villages, besides Planai and Hochwurzen. To access these towns you can make use of the ski bus driving back an forth to all villages.
There are several small villages situated in the region of Schladming-Dachstein, the largest is Schladming: a lively village with vivid apres-ski possibilities and centrally located in the valley of Schladming-Dachstein.
