PITZTAL
Pitztal is one of the best-loved winter sport regions of Austria. There are numerous glaciers and mountains with a height of over 3000 metres and the area is suitable for both beginners and experienced skiers! Pitztal is divided over three ski areas: Hochzeiger, Pitztaler Gletscher and Riffslee – covering over 125 km of slopes.

Hochzeiger: 54 km piste (12 km blue / 32 km red / 10 km black)
The Hochzeiger ski area is situated at an altitude of 1450 – 2450 metres and offers a total of 54 km of pistes. Here you will find the 7 km long family run for beginners and for the experienced skiers there are several exhilarating descents – with 400 metres different in height. A sub area of this Hochzeiger is Jerzens, here you will find a popular tobogganing run of 6 km long leading to the valley and there is a great offer in cross-country trails here. The most important tourist resort in this ski area is St Leonhard, however in the villages of Arzl and Wenns there are also a number of facilities situated. The two main advantages of this ski area are its sunny location and the memorable view from the pistes over the surrounding mountains.
Pitztaler Gletsjer: 37 km piste (3 km blue / 30 km red / 4 km black)
The second ski area of Pitztal is the Pitztaler Glacier, offering a total of 37 km of pistes. This ski area is situated at an altitude of 2860 – 3440 metres and exists out of several sub ski areas. The area is very snow-certain and offers gentle runs, attractive for most skiers and snowboarders. The free style skier and snowboarder can enjoy themselves in the fun park and at the boarder cross.
Rifflsee: 34 km piste (12 km blue / 10 km red / 12 km black)
The third ski are of Pitztal is the Rifflsee ski area, found at an altitude of 1680 – 2800 metres. This area exists out of several sub ski areas and has 34 km of slopes. The pistes are quite mild, however for the advanced skier there are some challenging ski runs, like the Snow-World run. In the upper part of the Rifflsee glacier there is a cross-country trail situated and for snowboarders there is a half-pipe. The most known ski village of the area is Mandarfen, offering the best après-ski of all of Pitztal.
The three ski areas of Pitztal are not connected, nevertheless the villages can be reached by car or ski bus.
